Rs 12.67 lakh worth fake currency notes seized
Kadapa : A fake currency notes racket was busted and a seven-member gang was arrested from Kazipet in Kadapa district on Sunday.
Police also recovered fake currency notes worth Rs 12.67 lakh from their possession. Briefing the media on the case, District SP Manish Kumar Sinha said the seven-member gang has been purchasing counterfeit currency at three to four times higher than the actual value from West Bengal and circulated them in Proddatur, Mydukur, Kazipet, Jammalamadugu and other areas.
They are in this business since two to three years. The counterfeit currency printed in other countries will enter into the country through West Bengal. SP complimented Kazipet police and Mydukur DSP for arresting the gang.
