'Amma Hastam is for protecting poor'

Jammalamadugu (Kadapa): The State government has introduced the prestigious Amma Hastam scheme to protect the poor people from the debilitating impact of inflation, said MLA Adinarayana Reddy at the inaugural programme of Amma Hastam at MPDO office premises in Jammalamadugu on Thursday. Addressing the public and officials, the MLA said the Congress government has already introduced several welfare schemes for weaker sections. The three schemes � Amma Hastam, Abhaya Hastam and Amrutha Hastam � are of great use to women, he said. He requested the RDO and other officials openly in the meeting to take steps to ensure that the government schemes reach the needy. Jammalamadugu RDO G Raghunath Reddy said the government by bearing the burden of Rs 6,500 crores is supplying nine essential groceries for just Rs 185 for the welfare of the poor and requested all to make right use of the Amma Hastam scheme. Tahsildar Sivaramaiah, MPDO Mallaiah, incharge Commissioner Mallikarjuna, ICDS officer Hymavathi, Enforcement Deputy Tahsildar Tirupataiah, RI Rupesh and others participated in the programme.
