Karimnagar: The leaders and cadres of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) celebrated the 32nd Foundation Day of the party in the district on Friday. The leaders garlanded the portrait of the party founder N T Rama Rao at the party office in the town and paid tributes to the leader. Later, the party activists led by MLA Gangula Kamalakar garlanded the statue of NTR on Bypass Road near the town and paid tributes to him. Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that TDP was formed 31 years ago, grew as an alternative to the Congress and came to power in the State within 9 months of its formation. N T Rama Rao introduced several schemes for the welfare of poor people, especially for the benefit of SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and women. During the rule of Congress, people have been facing a number of problems which include frequent power cuts, hike in power tariff, rise in prices of essential commodities, mounting transport charges, scarcity of drinking water and shortage of irrigation water. The interests of farmers and common people were ignored during the Congress rule, he said. The TDP would organise agitations against the Government and would highlight the problems of people, the MLA added. Adilabad: The leaders garlanded the statue of NTR at NTR Chowrastha in the town and paid tributes to him on the 32nd Foundation Day of the party. They took an oath that they would strive to achieve the goals of late N T Rama Rao and to bring back the party to power. Adilabad Assembly constituency TDP in-charge Payal Sankar and other leaders participated in the celebrations. The TDP rule in the State brought changes in the life style of poor and downtrodden people, he said. He gave a call to party activists to strive to bring back the past glory to the party so that it would come to power in the State. The TDP activists performed Palabhishekam to the statue of NTR at NTR Chowk in Nirmal town in the district. TDP district general secretary Lolam Shyam Sundar, leaders Bhushan Reddy, R G Kishen, Pudari Narahari and others participated. Khammam: The TDP celebrated the 32nd Foundation Day of the party on Friday. Party leader and cine actor Murali Mohan cut a cake at the party office and recalled the services of N T Rama Rao to the people of the State especially to the downtrodden. He along with party leaders from the district garlanded the statue of NTR on Bypass Road in the town and paid tributes to the leader. Murali Mohan said that the country needed the support of TDP to select Prime Ministerial candidate or to elect Lok Sabha Speaker. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu sacrificed important posts at national level as he was interested in the development of the State. During the 9-year rule under Congress, the State slipped down to 12th place in development in the country, the actor said. Nizamabad: The TDP leaders celebrated the party Foundation Day on Friday. They garlanded the statue of NTR in the town and paid tributes. Later, they garlanded the portrait of NTR at party office. Addressing the gathering, they gave a call to party members to strive for the victory of the party in coming elections. TDP district president V Gangadhar Goud, MLC Arikela Narsa Reddy and other leaders were present. The celebrations were also held at Bodhan, Armoor, Kamareddy, Banswada, Yellareddy and Jukkal Assembly constituencies in the district.
