JC tells officials to take steps for water supply

Karimnagar: District Joint Collector H Arun Kumar has directed the officials to take steps for solving the drinking water problems faced by people in the district during summer. Mr. Arun Kumar has organised the 'Dial Your Collector' programme with the various district officials at the Collectorate here on Monday. A person Sampath Rao of Durmed village in Karimnagar mandal has complained that drinking water was being provided for half-an-hour once in a week. He also said that most of the hand-pumps were not functioning. Responding to the problem, the Joint Collector has asked the concerned officials to provide drinking water through water tankers. Murali Mohan of Chintakunta village in Karimnagar mandal requested for financial aid as his father died in Gulf in 2010. He was told that financial aid would be provided as per the government rules. About eight phone calls were taken under the 'Dial Your Collector' programme. All the reported problems would be resolved by the concerned officials, the JC said. DRDA official K Krishna Reddy, Zilla Parishad CEO Chakradhar Rao and Dwama project director Manohar among others were present at the programme.
