Nalgonda: The Nalgonda Municipal Council meeting was adjourned due ruckus created by the councillors of TRS, TDP and CPI(M) demanding suspension of the In-Charge Municipal Commissioner Satyanarayana for facing corruption allegations.

Immediately after commencement of the meeting, the TRS councillors rushed towards the podium and raised slogans demanding suspension of In-Charge Municipal Commissioner for indulging in corruption. The Congress, TDP, BJP and CPI (M) councilors also extended their support to the TRS councillors.

They even turned down the appeal of the Municipal Chairperson Boddupalli Lakshmi Srinivas who to tried to pacify them by promising to discuss the corruption allegations after taking up the subjects in the agenda of the meeting.

This enraged the Municipal Vice-chairman Burre Srinivas, who in a fit of rage, tore the agenda copies. The protesting councillors too tore the agenda copies and threw them into the air resulting in unruly scenes in the meeting.

At one point of time, heated argument ensued between the Municipal Chairperson and the agitating councillors. BJP councillor Ravula Srinivas Reddy pointed out that several corruption allegations have been levelled against In-Charge Municipal Commissioner and he should be immediately suspended from the post. He demanded an inquiry into the corrupt deals and misappropriation of funds in the Municipality.

The agitating councillors did not paid heed to the request of the In-Charge Municipal Commissioner who said he was ready to give clarification over the matter. As noisy scenes continued even after her repeated appeals to the members, the Municipal Commissioner put off the council meeting abruptly.
