Awareness on AIDS is need of the hour
Addressing the gatherings on the occasion, they said it is everyone’s duty to create awareness on AIDS among the public. AIDS-infected patient becomes weak day by day and survives only with medicines,” they added.
Nalgonda/Bhongir/ Khammam/ Kothagudem: It is the responsibility of everyone to build AIDS-free society, Collectors of Bhongir, Suryapet and Nalgonda Anitha Ramchandran, Surendra Mohan and Gaurav Uppal stated. On the occasion of World AIDS Day on Thursday, the trio flagged off the rallies in their respective district headquarters.

They advised people to focus on all recommended precautionary measures to prevent to become a victim of life killing disease. Many victims of AIDS were maintaining distance towards the treatment because of failure of detection of disease in early stage, they underlined.
Even though government has been conducting several programmes to create awareness on AIDS among the public, desired result was not at expected level due to lack of public cooperation, they asserted.
Doctors, police officials and students participated in the rallies.In Bhongir, a huge AIDS awareness rally from Gandhinagar to Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple by students of government educational institutions was taken out here on Thursday In Khammam, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kondal Rao on Thursday observed that AIDS prevention was the only alternative as the disease has no cure so far.
Addressing participants in the AIDS awareness rally, he stated that the department was taking all necessary steps to prevent spread of the virus.Nursing and medical students and NCC cadets participated in the rally from the Pavilion Grounds to the Government District Hospital.
In Kothagudem, MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao, Joint Collector Ramkishan and Kondal Rao participated in the AIDS awareness rally taken out by students. Rao flagged off the rally at Murredu Bridge. The students displayed placards and raised slogans on AIDS awareness.
