Khammam: The District Secretary of the Kula Vivaksha Porata Samiti (KVPS) U Manohar demanded the government to pay the salaries immediately for the workers of mid-day meals here on Friday.

The representatives of the KVPS inspected the NSP Government High School here in Khammam to check the quality of food provided to the students under mid-day meal scheme.

After inspecting the food, the representatives asked the workers of mid-day meal scheme to discard eggs which were not in good
condition.

When questioned the reason for supplying of such type of food to the students, the workers said they were not paid salaries for the last five months and were facing problems in getting money from other sources to provide food for the students.

U Manohar said low quality food was provided to students due to non-release of salaries to the workers. He alleged that the government was showing discrimination towards BC, SC and ST students studying in government schools by not releasing the salaries in time to the workers who provide food to the students.

From where workers will get the money? How the students can improve their creative skills and develop their abilities without nutritious and balanced diet provided to them? he questioned, demanding the government to pay the salaries immediately.

Representatives of KVPS M Upendar, B Bheemaiah, Ram Murthy, Pullaiah, Mahesh, N Padma, Ch Pushpa and Muttaiah were present along with others.
