Drunk auto driver kills 5-month-old son
The auto-driver later committed suicide and was found hanging to a tree on Thursday morning. According to Tungaturthi CI Lakshman, Borra Venkanna, the auto-driver of Mukundapuram, married Gangamma of Ukallu in Warangal district 10 years back.
Suryapet: In a bloodcurdling incident, an auto-driver killed his five-month-old son by smashing him to the ground and attacked the boy’s mother with an axe in Mukundapuram in Maddirala mandal of the district on Wednesday.
The auto-driver later committed suicide and was found hanging to a tree on Thursday morning. According to Tungaturthi CI Lakshman, Borra Venkanna, the auto-driver of Mukundapuram, married Gangamma of Ukallu in Warangal district 10 years back.
The couple had two sons. Later, he fell in love with Swapna (22), then a degree student and married her. Venkanna and Swapna had been living with Gangamma in a house in Mukundapuram.
However, trouble arose in the family when Swapna gave birth to a boy five months ago. Since then the couple has been quarrelling frequently. After a tiff on Wednesday, Swapna left for her mother-in-law’s house in the same village.
Enraged by this, drunk Venkanna killed his son and indiscriminately attacked Swapna with an axe causing serious injuries. She became unconscious.
Assuming that Swapna had died, Venkanna hanged himself to a tree. Meanwhile, the critically injured Swapna was rushed to area hospital by villagers. Her condition is stated to be serious. Police registered a case and took up the investigation.
