Khammam: The constitution of Farmer Coordination Committees (FCC) will help unite all the farmers across the State and solve their problems, said Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.

On Thursday, the R&B Minister visited Enkoor mandal and participated in various developmental activities. Along with MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and MLA Banothu Madan Lal, Tummala inaugurated 33/11 K V electric sub-stations at Jannaram and Nacharam villages constructed at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore each, and also a godown constructed at Enkoor Market Committee Yard.

Speaking on the occasion, Tummala said in last one year the Telangana government, for the benefit of farmers, has constructed godowns with a storage capacity of 17.50 lakh metric tons across the State.

To the existing 83 cotton purchasing centres, proposals have been sent to the Central for the opening of additional 100 cotton purchasing centres in the district for the convenience of farmers, said the Minister.

The Minister suggested the farmers to form the committees with eligible persons who can work to solve their problems transparently irrespective of involvement of political parties, castes and religions. All the farmers being united must utilise the welfare schemes introduced by the government, he added.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Marapaka Nagesh, MPP Banothu Madhavi, ZPTC A Shyamala, MPTC Dharma Rao, Sarpanch Bhukya Narsi, Superintending Engineer of NPDCL Ramesh, Divisional Engineer Srinivas Rao, Construction D E Babu Rao and Enkoor and Wyra Market Committee Chairmen were present along with others.
