Khammam: District Collector DS Lokesh Kumar ordered the officials of Revenue department to take necessary measures for completing the land reforming works within the prescribed time.
As part of land reforming works, the Collector visited several villages of Chintakani, Lachhagudem and Konijerla mandals to participate in village meetings (Gram Sabhas) here in Khammam on Friday.
After handing over the land details of the respective villages to the farmers of villages concerned, the Collector suggested to bring their objections and opinions to the officials notice.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that as many as 51 teams were deployed to carry out land reforming works in about 21 mandals in the district.
He ordered the officials of Revenue department to make changes as per the guidelines issued by the government after receiving objections from the farmers.
“In the process of land reforming works, collect the details of agricultural lands, barren lands, government lands and patta lands along with asigned lands after conducting total survey of the lands present in the villages,” the Collector suggested.
Lokesh Kumar also advised the land owners to cooperate with the officials by presenting the required documents during Gram Sabhas. “The representatives of Farmer Coordination Committees (FCCs) along with local peoples representatives must participate in grama sabhas and must help farmers solving their issues by coordinating with officials, he suggested, ordering the Tahsildars to finish the work before the deadline.
Chintakani and Konijerla mandals Tahsildars K Srinivas Rao and Shailaja, Lachhagudem and Konijerla village sarpanches G Ramesh and A Suresh, representatives of FCCs and local peoples representatives were present along with others.
