Nagarkurnool: The Nagarkurnool police in a meticulous crackdown have seized 100 kilograms of Ganja and arrested four persons, who were illegally transporting the contraband in a vehicle. According to the police, four persons were illegally transporting 100 kg of Ganja in a jeep.

A police party which was posted at Sirsagandla stage to check vehicles stumbled upon the illegal consignment being transported from Odisha to Shiridi.

“While conducting vehicle checking, we have found four persons illegally transporting Ganja bundled in different packets in a jeep. We have seized the illegal consignment and arrested all the four persons,” said Kalwakurthi Circle Inspector, Mallikarjun

According to Posaiah, sub-inspector of police, all the arrested persons were travelling from Barahampur of Odisha to Shiridi in Maharashtra.

“Upon weighing the seized consignment, we found exactly about 98.5 kilograms of Ganja wrapped in different packets. It is estimated to cost around Rs 3-4 lakh.

We have seized the jeep and booked cases against the culprits,” informed the SI.
