Bahujana JAC condemns attacks on Prof Kancha Ilaiah

The representatives of the Bahujana Joint Action Committee condemned the attacks on Prof Kancha Ilaiah and burnt the effigies of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its organisations Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyardhi Parishad (ABVP) here at Raparthinagar in Khammam on Monday.

Khammam: The representatives of the Bahujana Joint Action Committee condemned the attacks on Prof Kancha Ilaiah and burnt the effigies of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its organisations Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyardhi Parishad (ABVP) here at Raparthinagar in Khammam on Monday.

Earlier, the representatives of Bahujana JAC took out a rally from Gandhi Chowk to Raparthinagar through bus depot in protest against the attacks made by BJP party and its alliances on Prof Kancha Ilaiah in Khammam on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Bahujana JAC convenor M Hanumanth Rao alleged that behind the mask of Hinduism, the leaders of BJP party and its alliances were targeting the Professor and were trying to attack him, and encouraging communalism in the country.

“They are trying to create panic among the intellectuals by acting against the democracy,” he criticised, adding that all people including intellectuals, journalists, youth and writers must extend their support to the Professor, who also has equal rights to live and express his feelings in a democratic country like India.

BC sub-plan convenor Y Vinay Kumar, SC &ST Vigilance Monitoring Committee member G Veerabhadram, representatives of Bahujana JAC Veeranna, Naga Raju, P Madhu, Venkataramana, T Ramulu, Ramesh, Ravinder and Nagesh were present along with others.
