Padma Sri awardee and tree lover Vanajeevi Daripalli Ramaiah has urged everyone to keep their surroundings clean for transforming India into Swachh Bharat.
Khammam: Padma Sri awardee and tree lover Vanajeevi Daripalli Ramaiah has urged everyone to keep their surroundings clean for transforming India into Swachh Bharat.
Taking part as chief guest to the Swachh Bharat programme organised by the management of Telangana Hospitals at Nehrunagar in Khammam on Tuesday, he advised people to plant more saplings and increase the green cover.
Dr Murali, Neurosurgeon of the hospital, said that it was everyone’s responsibility to keep their surroundings clean. “The unhygienic surroundings are the prime cause for spreading of many seasonal diseases,” he added.
Later, the management of the hospital felicitated Ramaiah and his wife, Janamma. Annam Foundation President Annam Srinivas Rao, Dr Garapati Murali, G Someshwar Rao, Dr Prakash, Dr Srinivas, Raju and Vikram were present along with others.
