Officials told to make arrangements for Suryapet district Formation Day

Suryapet: The district is getting ready to celebrate its first Formation Day on October 11. In this connection, Minister G Jagadish Reddy has conducted a review meeting with Collector Surendra Mohan and other district officials at his residence in Hyderabad on Friday.

Addressing the officials, Reddy ordered them to take up innovative programmes to elevate the image of the district among people apart from illuminating all government offices and important places in the district.

Stating that the Education department was conducting essay writing and elocution competitions, the Minister directed the district administration to conduct sports and games competitions to the employees of all government departments and women of Self Help Groups on October 9 and 10. He added that prizes to winners would be distributed on October 11 on Collectorate premises.

Informing that national flag measuring 20,200 feet would be taken out in a procession on the day, the Collector added that a book has been compiled with the details of historically prominent places, eminent personalities of the district and Telangana agitation. These books would be distributed to school and college students.

DRDO Kiran Kumar, District Welfare Officer V Munnaiah, I&PR Assistant Director Venkateshwarlu and other officials took part in the meeting.
