Mahbubnagar: The district administration of Mahbubnagar conducted a lucky dip programme to select the beneficiaries of double bedroom houses at ZP Meeting Hall on Monday. District collector Ronald Rose, Mahbubnagar MLA Srinivas Goud and Devarkadra MLA Ala Venkateshwar Reddy took part in the programme.

As the district administration had completed 20 houses in Nijalapur village of Moosapet mandal and about 310 houses in Christianpally village in Mahbubnagar, District Collector held the lucky dip programme to select the beneficiaries in a transparent manner giving no scope for corruption and favouritism in the beneficiary selection.

“As many as 330 beneficiaries have been selected through the lucky dip process and very soon we will officially allocate them the houses,” said the Collector.

For the year 2017-18, the State government had sanctioned with 9,781 double bedroom houses to Mahbubnagar district. Of this, 2,300 are allocated for special category people. Among which, 2,000 houses are under various stages of construction.

The district administration is also planning to launch the construction works of double bedroom houses in Makthal and Narayanpet mandals, while 150 houses are already under construction in Jadcherla mandal.

MLA Srinivas Goud said, “The State government had fulfilled its promise of providing double bedroom houses to the poor. Unlike the housing scheme during the Congress government regime, the double bedroom houses are far better.”
