Reiterating the importance of crop insurance during the time of adversaries, Govind Nayak, Agriculture officer of Jogulamba Gadwal said all the farmers in the district must get their corps insured to get the necessary aid in the time of natural calamities like floods, drought and damage due to heavy rainfall.

The district has received heavy rains in the last three weeks which have damaged cotton and paddy in large extent and pushed the farmers into gloom.

While giving tips to the farmers during his visit to rain ravaged areas in Amaravai village of Maldakal mandal, Nayak said, “All farmers must get enrolled into the crop insurance scheme so that it will help them sustain financially during adversaries.”

The officer later interacted with the farmers and made note of the damaged crops. He said he would submit a report to the government and would see to it that all farmers who have lost their corps to rains get compensation.
