Temples witness huge rush as Kartika Masam begins
Devotees in large numbers made a beeline to this temple town on the first day of the auspicious ‘Karthika Masam’ for taking a holy dip in the Godavari River here on Friday.

They thronged the banks of the river right from the early hours in the morning. After taking bath, women offered ‘Harathi’ to Godavari, besides performing ’Tulasi pooja’, ‘Gowri pooja’ and ‘Deeparadhana’ on the river bank.
Devotees visited Subramanyeshwara Swamy temple on the river bank. They lit lamps near the temple ‘Dhwaja Sthambam’.
They also went around temples of Anjaneya Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, Valli Devasena Sametha Sivalayam, and Umaramalingeswara Swamy.
The officials of the Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy temple made special arrangements for Darshan of the Lord. Serpentine queues were witnessed at the famous shrine.
