Khammam: Protesting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for ‘threatening’ famous film actor and Padma Sri award winner Kamal Haasan for his remarks on Hindu terror, the CPM activists on Monday burnt an effigy of RSS and BJP.

Party State Committee member Nunna Nageshwar Rao and District Secretary Ponnam Venkateshwar Rao along with party representatives took part in the protest programme in Khammam on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkateshwar Rao alleged that BJP and RSS were encouraging communalism in the country and instigating the radical minds to issue such threats to persons fighting for social cause.

“The BJP and RSS Gundaas are threatening and even killing persons who are questioning their anti-people policies. Worse, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has blind to such incidents that are clearly encouraging communalism in the country,” Venkateshwar Rao said.

In a democratic country like India, every citizen has right to express their views and opinion as per Freedom of Speech guaranteed by the Constitution. But the political leaders of ruling parties were trying to kill democracy and suppressing the voices raised against them, he alleged. Several party leaders took part in the protest programme.
