Khammam: The youth must play a key role in building a healthy society, said Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha after inaugurating the 23rd National Youth Festival in Khammam on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha said the youth must make use of schemes introduced by the State government for their growth. Stating that the youth festivals help bring the hidden talents of the youth, the ZP chief advised the youth to excel in different fields besides focusing on studies. “The youth of Telangana must set examples for others apart from spreading the Telangana Culture across the world,” she said.

Mayor Dr G Papalal said the youth must participate actively in cultural activities besides studies. District Youth and Sports Authority Officer M Parandama Reddy informed that the candidates who perform well at the district-level in youth festival would be selected to take part State-level youth festival. Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam and folk dances by the youth enthralled the audience.

Divisional Engineer of Electricity Department Rathod, Youth Federation President Jakkula Venkataramana, Secretary Krishna Rao, State Women Youth Federation President J Swarna, City Corporators K Murali, P Naga Raju, B Bhaskar and National Youth Award Winner Bandaru Lakshmaiah were present along with others.
