Tahsildars pulled up for delay in land survey works
Even though it is claimed that more than 90 per cent of correction of land records in the district has been completed, the District Collector is yet to receive the latest status report of land survey from the mandal Tahsildars.
Mahbubnagar: Even though it is claimed that more than 90 per cent of correction of land records in the district has been completed, the District Collector is yet to receive the latest status report of land survey from the mandal Tahsildars.
According to District Collector Ronald Rose, so far out of a total of 26 mandals in the district only 10 mandals have submitted the latest status report of land survey. The Tahsildars of remaining 16 mandals are yet to submit their status report. Expressing his displeasure, the Collector directed the Tahsildars to complete the pending works on war foot and submit the reports before November 26.
While speaking to Tahsildars through video conference, the Collector said, “So far we have received the latest status reports of land survey records from only 10 mandals. There is a delay being observed in the survey of special category lands in the district. We have directed all the mandal Tahsildars to ensure 100 per cent survey works are completed in the targeted period.”
At present, Tahsildars have been asked to take up the survey of special category lands such as Wakf Board lands, Endowment lands, Forest lands, Enam lands and lands covered by government buildings and other government organisations. For instance, the Mahbubnagar Urban mandal has an area of 625 acres under Wakf Board, but till date the concerned authorities have not completed the survey.
There are many such cases which are still pending. As Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is reviewing the status report of correction of land records on a weekly basis, the higher authorities are exerting pressure on the Collectors to ensure that all the works were completed by the end of December.
In view of the above, the Collector has directed revenue authorities to give priority to land survey and complete the works in time. “We are submitting the latest status reports relating to land records purification drive to Chief Commissioner of Land Administration every Friday. We are hoping to complete 100 per cent land survey before November 26 and the status report of the same will be submitted to the authorities concerned,” said the Collector.
