Khammam, Nalgonda emerge winners in U-14 volleyball tourney
In the Under-14 state-level volleyball tournament held here as part of 63rd School Federation Games, Khammam and Nalgonda teams emerged as winners in boys’ and girls’ category, respectively. The Warangal team emerged as runners-up in both the categories.
Bhadrachalam: In the Under-14 state-level volleyball tournament held here as part of 63rd School Federation Games, Khammam and Nalgonda teams emerged as winners in boys’ and girls’ category, respectively. The Warangal team emerged as runners-up in both the categories.
In the final match for boys, Khammam and Warangal teams vied with each other for the top honours. Warangal team was trounced with a score of 25-17, 25-22. In the final match for girls, Nalgonda and Warangal contended for top position. Nalgonda team pipped Warangal with a score of 25-23, 25-16.
Local legislator Sunnam Rajaiah distributed the prizes and appreciated the organisers of the event.Important among those who graced the occasion were: Tahsildar PV Ramakrishna, District Organising Secretary Bolla Venkateswarlu, Pakala Durga Prasad, Totamalla Rama, Prem Kumar, Kanta Rao and Pamarti Srinivas.
On the sidelines of the tournament, probables for the Under-14 national team have been selected. They are (boys): T Sampat Kumar, Y Chandrasekhar, K Naveen, A Nitin, A Narender, P Karthik, R Ramesh, K Sagar, B Manohar, K Nagacharanteja, K Vinod Kumar, D Aravind, B Balaraju Goud, A Saikumar, G Harshit Reddy, S Varun, M Anjaneyulu and K Siva.
Probables selected (girls): G Preeti, K Sujata, MVV Lakshmi, K Pujita, J Sangeeta, M Uma, B Koteswari, P Anusha, K Sireesha, Ch Lavanya, S Anukavyani, D Varshini, D Sarita, K Mrudula Lakshmi, Ch Sarita, N Ankita, Sujata, Gautami, R Divya.
S Srilata, G Srinivas and J Raghuveer of Ranga Reddy, Adilabad and Warangal districts have been appointed coaches for the tournament.
