Expedite ISL works: Collector to officials
District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar ordered the MPDO’s to speed up construction works of Individual Sanitary Latrines (ISL’s) as the date to declare the district as ‘Open Defecation-Free’ was nearing, here on Thursday.
Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar ordered the MPDO’s to speed up construction works of Individual Sanitary Latrines (ISL’s) as the date to declare the district as ‘Open Defecation-Free’ was nearing, here on Thursday.
The Collector chaired a review meeting with the MPDO’s, APO’s and village-level officers of Panchayat Raj department to discuss the progress works of ISLs in the district here at Technical Training and Development Centre (TTDC) in Khammam on Thursday.
Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said that date to declare Khammam as ODF was December 31 and the officials must take necessary steps for completing the construction works of ISLs allotted to the district on warfoot within the prescribed time limit.
The mandal-level officers are given special powers for completion of constrution works of ISLs, he said. “Under any circumstance the construction works must be completed by taking the help of Tahsildars and police department,” ordered the Collector.
There is no deficit of fund for the works. As soon as after uploading the photo of the completed ISLs, the money would be transferred to the account of the beneficiary, assured the Collector. Trainee Collector Hanmanthu Kodimba and others attended the meeting.
