Minister asks officials to expedite works
Health Minister C Laxma Reddy on Friday, while reviewing the development works in Badepally Municipality, directed the Municipal Commissioner and concerned road and drain contractors to expedite the works as early as possible and not to compromise on quality of works.

Though the State government had released the tender notification for the Cement Concrete (CC) road, BT roads, and construction of drains more than 2 months ago, the officials have taken time to finalise the tenders and had finally completed the tender process and selected the contractors for the works.
As part of this, the government had also released Rs 14 crore for taking up various development works in the Badepally Municipality. At present, the authorities are giving priority to complete the central lighting and road divider works, completion of drain system and laying of CC Road works in the Municipality.
“We have asked the contractors to first complete the Central lights and road divisions works in a week’s period and later they are asked to take up the CC road works by end of this week,” informed Sunita, Municipal Commissioner, Badepally.
However, stress on the quality of works, the Minister asked the officials to regularly supervise the works and ensure quality. As part of the development works, the contractors were asked to set up central lighting systems wherever necessary at the Junctions. The Minister directed officials that all the road junctions and road corners would have central lighting systems. A central lighting system would be set up at the road corner at Old Bus stand road and Netaji statue.
Similar lightings would also be erected at signal gadda junction road. Road dividers, up to 930 meters near the Old Bus stand, up to 470 meters near the Netaji statue will be constructed. For the convenience of the people wherever necessary road crossings will be allowed.
For the construction of 54 drainages and sewerage lines in Badepally Municipality, the State government had allocated Rs 3 crore. As many as 13 bituminous roads are expected to be constructed with a cost of Rs 2.75 crore. “Never before had any State government took interest to the development of Badepally Municipality. However, after coming to power, the Telangana government is committed and determined to complete all the development works in the targeted period.
Not just completing in the targeted period but we are also stressing on quality and am sure Badepally municipality will emerge as a model municipality in the district,” said Laxma Reddy. The Minister asked the officials of Engineering Department and the Municipal Authorities to regularly monitor the works and ensure highest quality.
