Kothagudem: The road works from Ramavaram to Sarapaka in Kothagudem, after the initial euphoria, are progressing at a snail’s pace causing problems to pedestrians and vehicle riders.
The road is being laid as a link road to the national highway being developed in the neighboring Chhattisgarh from Ibrahimpatnam to Jagdalpur.
Hundreds of heavy vehicles travel to Paloncha or Burgampahad from Manuguru . The road became accident-prone near Morampalli Banjara in the mandal. There are no notice boards either and the road condition is worse. Labourers and petty traders are facing many problems while on their way to works, but the national highways authorities feel not pinched about it.
The people of the mandal have been demanding the officials concerned to ensure that the road works are completed as early as possible and display notice boards in the accident-prone areas.
The Mission Bhagiratha Drinking Water project works are getting delayed because of the noncooperation between the drinking water project officials and highway authorities at Morampalli Banjara. The villagers have been urging the officials to take initiative and complete the works as early as possible.
