The Khammam police nabbed two chain snatchers, who resorted chain snatching in and around the city, here on Friday. Following the orders of the Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, Two-town police Inspector C H Raji Reddy and Sub-Inspectors Rama Rao and Krishna, along with Crime police, intensified patrolling and vehicular checking at various important locations in the city.

Khammam: The Khammam police nabbed two chain snatchers, who resorted chain snatching in and around the city, here on Friday. Following the orders of the Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, Two-town police Inspector C H Raji Reddy and Sub-Inspectors Rama Rao and Krishna, along with Crime police, intensified patrolling and vehicular checking at various important locations in the city.

During vehicle checking at NTR Circle bypass road in the early hours of Friday, the police nabbed two persons. They were identified as Bhukya Veery (son of Bichha and resident of Balaji thanda from Garla mandal) and Nuvvula Suresh (son of Venkatanarayan and resident of Madaram village of Karepalli mandal).

The duo formed a gang with two others - Obulesh of Gaddikunta thanda of Kadapa district and Mangilal of Kothagudem – and are involved in several chain-snatching cases in the city by threatening people with gun. Police seized about 13 tola gold, a pistol, a mobile, a two-wheeler and Rs 45,000 cash from their possession.

The Police Commissioner appreciated Sub-Inspector Chiranjeevi, who passed on the information about the accused and Khammam rural CI Thirupathi Reddy and the police team Venkat Reddy, Srisailam, Hanumantha Rao, Ramulu and Ameer and Kota Nagendra who nabbed the accused.
