The Minister inaugurated the preparatory celebrations here at Bhaktaramadasu Kalakshetram here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion the R&B Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao said that the proposed WTC under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would bring all the people who like and admire Telugu language from all corners of the world under one platform for the first time in history.

When compared to other languages, one can understand mother-tongue easily. He said the Telugu language is sweeter compared to other languages. Teaching must be purely in Telugu language to create interest among students on Telugu language, suggested the Minister. Many great poets and writers strived hard to give worldwide popularity to Telugu language.

“For the first time, the State government is organising TWC at seven different platforms in Hyderabad from December 15 to 19. Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu is going to inaugurate the celebrations. The district administration is making elaborate arrangements to provide various facilities for the poets, writers and other people who are interested to participate in the WTC celebrations,” said the Minister.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar inaugurated a massive rally organised under district public relations, education and youth & sports departments with the students of various educational institutions. The students dressed in traditional attire participated in the rally from ZP centre to Sardar Patel stadium and formed ‘Akshara Mala’ in the stadium to mark the occasion of WTC.

The ZP chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, MLA Ajay Kumar, City Mayor Dr Papa Lal, ICDC Chairman Budan Baig, Libraries Chairman Md Qamar, ZP CEO Marapaka Nagesh, the District Education Officer Vasanti, District Public Relation Officer Srinivas, the District Revenue Officer Purnachandra and District Employment Officer Vijetha were present along with others.
