Minister launches red gram centre

Mahbubnagar: Health Minister C Laxma Reddy took part in various development programmes and launched a red gram procurement centre at Badepally market yard in Jadcehrla mandal on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government was taking various measures for the welfare of the farmers in the state. “Because of the initiatives taken up by the State government, the farmers are able to produce better crops in the State.

We had never had so much red gram yield earlier, however, from the past two years farmers have taken up red gram farming in a big way and reaping good returns. As part of this we are opening red gram procurement centres at each and every major market yards and the government is procuring the red gram at minimum support price,” said the Minister.

Later, the Minister took part in the land breaking ceremony for the construction of a check dam in Konded village under Jadcherla limits and directed the contractors and officials to speed up the works.
