Vigilance & enforcement dept cracks whip on mill
The vigilance and enforcement department had cracked a whip on a rice mill in Jadcherla mandal of Mahbubnagar district for illegally stocking 550 quintals of public distribution rice (PDS) on Thursday.
Mahbubnagar: The vigilance and enforcement department had cracked a whip on a rice mill in Jadcherla mandal of Mahbubnagar district for illegally stocking 550 quintals of public distribution rice (PDS) on Thursday.
According to K Harikrishana, Deputy Tahsildar, Vigilance Jadcherla, the vigilance and enforcement department from Hyderabad sent a special team to investigate into the illegal stock piling of PDS rice at Om Sri Laxmi Santoshi Trading Company rice mill in Jadcherla and seized the entire stock of 550 quintals of rice.
“Based on the credible information a special vigilance and enforcement team from Hyderabad have raided the mill and seized the illegally stocked PDS rice worth Rs 13 lakhs,” said the deputy tahsildar.
The officials seized the rice mill and the rice samples were sent for testing to further consolidate it as PDS rice. After conducting detailed enquiry with the mill owners and the management, the officials had taken all the workers into custody for further investigation.
