Bhongir: District Collector Anita Ramachandran directed the special officers to intensify the inspections to improve the administration at rural and mandal levels. On Monday, she conducted a meeting with all district officials at the Collectrate and ordered to visit them government schools, hospitals, hostels and Anganwadi centers once a week to check their functioning and infrastructure, and submit the reports for necessary action.

She advised officials to take necessary steps to transform all villages in the district as Open Defecation-Free. In this regard, she informed the officials to create awareness among the people on importance of construction of Individual Sanitary Latrines.

Asking the officials as to how without conducting surprise and sudden inspections, the staff at rural and mandal level work effectively, she advised them to tour the district extensively and conduct inspections to achieve the desired results.

Expressing her concern over the inspection of 100 out of 800 Anganwadi centers in the district by respective officials, she advised the officials to organise inspections in rest of the Anganwadis to improve their functioning and infrastructure.Joint Collector Ravi Naik, DRO Mahender Reddy and others attended the meeting.
