Among the 18 teams from three different mandals of Narwa, Dhanwada and Marikal mandals, the Nehru Marikal Yuvakamandali bagged the first price and received a cash price of Rs 11,116 by the hands of Rajender Reddy, Narayanpet MLA who visited and witnessed the tournament as the chief guest. 

Mahbubnagar: Among the 18 teams from three different mandals of Narwa, Dhanwada and Marikal mandals, the Nehru Marikal Yuvakamandali bagged the first price and received a cash price of Rs 11,116 by the hands of Rajender Reddy, Narayanpet MLA who visited and witnessed the tournament as the chief guest.

According to Balalingaiah, Senior Teacher of ZPHS, who is also serving as a trainer for the Nehru Marikal Yuvakamandali, the Kabaddi Tournament was organised in under the Marikal block constituting three mandals.

“This event was organised commemorating the 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. “As an inspiration and to ensure the youth develop skills in sports and athletic we pooled in funds up to Rs 20,000 and conducted the Kabaddi Tournament.

The tournament lasted for two days where in 18 teams participated from Narwa, Dhanwada and Marikal mandal. I am happy that the Nehru Maria Yuvakamandali had excelled and bagged first price,” said Balalingaiah, who encouraged the Youth Association President and other members to take up the Kabaddi Tournament.

Apart from Marikal team which bagged the Trophy and first price, the other teams which bagged second and third prizes in the tournament include Peddakadmur team won Rs 8,116 as second prize, while the Kabaddi team of Ellampally won the third price with a cash award of Rs 5,116.

Anjaneilu, President of Yuvakamandali, Marikal, Srikanth Reddy, Chief guest, Shashikala Buchappa MPP, Laxmi Ramaswamy Sarpanch, Madhusudan Reddy MEO, Venkat Ram Reddy, Srikanth Reddy Secretary, Ramesh NYK Incharge, Jamulappa Sub Inspector Police, Chandrasekhar MRO Marikal and others took part in the prize distribution ceremony.
