Boora conceives 5 lakh insurance scheme for workers

To help the families of such deceased persons, Rs 5 lakh would be provided as ex gratia through specially-designed insurance scheme titled, Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Suraksha Bheema Yojana.

Suryapet: Bhongir MP Boora Narsaiah Goud informed that majority of people practicing caste-based profession have been losing their lives in accidents. To help the families of such deceased persons, Rs 5 lakh would be provided as ex gratia through specially-designed insurance scheme titled, Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Suraksha Bheema Yojana.

The MP on Wednesday conducted a meeting with district officials to explain the insurance policy envisaged by him. Addressing the officials, Boora said just by paying Rs 60 annual premium, the bereaved families would get Rs 5 lakh sum as ex gratia from BLR Foundation. He urged the officials to create awareness among the targeted people about the insurance policy.

District Collector Surendra Mohan stated that insurance scheme by the Foundation was affordable and would be highly useful to workers of both organised and unorganised sectors. The Collector assured the MP of all help and publicity to the novel scheme.

Joint Collector Sanjeeva Reddy, DRO Yadi Reddy, DRDO Kiran Kumar, Excise Superintendent Srinivsas, District Officer of Labor department Chandra Naik, Fisheries official Soujanya, Welfare Officer Shankar and others attended the meeting.
