Khammam: The CPM party on Wednesday organised a free medical camp at Manchikanti Bhavan under the leadership if party’s Two Town secretary Y Vikram. Hundreds of patients availed the services at the camp on the day. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Srimannarayan said many people who crossed 40 years of age were suffering from problems like hypertension and diabetes. Diagnosing them at the right time will help keep check on them.

“The medicines available in the medical shops for treating such ailments are costly. But here in the medical camp along with free health checkup, medicines are given for very low price,” he added. Party district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao said only some people who were financially well off were able to visit corporate hospitals and undertake treatment that costs lakhs. However, people who are poor are left to suffer due to their weak financial status. For such people, the medical camp comes as a boon as they can avail services for free.

“The BJP and TRS governments neglected the health sector in the country and in the State. Due to which, many people living in rural and semi-urban areas are facing health-related issues,” he alleged. He further informed that free medical camps will be organised every Saturday for aged persons at Manchikanti Bhavan and called on people to utilise the opportunity. Doctors and others took part in the camp.
