In a move to help students prepare well for their exams, principal of Government Junior College of Bhoodan Pochampally of Yadadri district, with the help of local youth association and Bhongir MLA Shekar Reddy’s Pilla Foundation, has been providing milk and meals to 350 students of the College.

Bhoodan Pochampally: In a move to help students prepare well for their exams, principal of Government Junior College of Bhoodan Pochampally of Yadadri district, with the help of local youth association and Bhongir MLA Shekar Reddy’s Pilla Foundation, has been providing milk and meals to 350 students of the College.

Speaking to The Hans India, College principal Ramesh informed that after taking charge as in-charge of the college last month, he spent a week to set right the administration. Later, he focused on student welfare activities and as part of it, he decided to conduct special classes besides providing milk and meals to students preparing for their term exams.

In this regard, he said, soon he conducted a meeting with local youth associations and put forward his proposals. Netaji Yuvajana Sangham, a local youth association, on their golden jubilee celebrations came forward and agreed to arrange milk and biscuits to students till the commencement of end exams i.e., March 1. The milk programme was launched on January 27, and successfully continuing.

Further, the principal approached local MLA Pilla Shekar Reddy and requested for providing mid-day meals to college students till the commencement of exams. Responding to principal’s plea, MLA Shekar Reddy on behalf of his Pilla Foundation agreed to provide lunch and further sent four of cooking staff to the college.

The mid-day meal programme was January 30. Besides these, landscaping of college premises was also carried out for providing pleasant atmosphere to the students to help them focus on studies. To maintain transparency and accountability in implementation the programmes, the Principal has constituted a committee with staff members.
