Cops foil CPM bid to enter market
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government was trying to suppress the voice of Opposition parties and the common man by using police power and was killing the democracy in the State, alleged Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) district secretary Nunna Nageshwar Rao here on Tuesday.

CPM activists under the leadership of Nageshwar Rao took out rally from Boss Centre to the Agriculture Market in protest against the government for imposing restrictions on political leaders and media persons from entering into the market in Khammam.
When the CPM leaders tried to enter the market to give a representation to the marketing officials, the police personnel who were already present at the market placed barricades to prevent them from entering into the market.
A heated argument took place between the CPM leaders and police officials. When the CPM leaders tried to enter the market forcibly, police officials arrested them and sent the leaders to III Town town police station.
Speaking on the occasion, Nageshwar Rao alleged that instead of paying minimum support price to the farmers, the government was robbing innocent the farmers by fixing the lowest price in connivance with the traders and middlemen.
The market officials, along with the government, was misusing the power by deploying police personnel at the grain market and not allowing the leaders of the Opposition parties and even media persons, he alleged. The government must withdraw imposed restrictions at the agricultural market and must fix minimum support price for the produce and give permission to leaders of the Opposition parties, representatives of various Rythu Sanghams and media persons to enter the market, he demanded.
If the government behaved stubbornly and continued the restriction at the agricultural market, a befitting lesson would be taught to the government, he warned.
CPM State leader Ponnam Venkateshwarlu, district leaders M Ramesh, Y Srinivas Rao, T Lingaiah, Y Vikram, Gattu Rama Devi, T Naga Raju, Shaik Meera Saheb, D Venkanna, Y Gopi, Bhukya Srinivas, K Guru Murthy, Naga Sulochana, M Nageshwar Rao, Naga Mani, G B Chourdari, S K Babu and S Veera Babu were present along with others.
