Suryapet: Minister for IT and Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao stated that the State government was committed towards eradicating the fluoride issue completely from the erstwhile Nalgonda district.

KTR along with Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated the water treatment plant constructed at Chillpakuntla, with an estimated cost of 143 crore under Mission Bhagiratha scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, the IT Minister said plant would provide drinking water to 175 habitations in Nutankal, Maddirala, Nagaram, Arvapally and Jajireddygudem of Tungaturthi constituency in Suryapet district. KTR informed that all villages and hamlets of Tirumalagiri mandal were already getting drinking water from B Chandupatla water treatment plant from last year October itself.

Minister Jagadish Reddy informed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been allocating required funds since formation of Suryapet district. He assured that people of the district of getting safe drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha scheme very soon.

Meanwhile, officials of town municipality urged for more funds for the beautification of Suryapet and to address various issues in municipality limits. Mission Bhagiratha Engineer-in-Chief Surender Reddy, Chief Engineer Prakash, RDO Mohan Rao, Engineers Madhu Babu, Mohan Reddy, Venkateshwarlu and district officials accompanied the IT Minister during his visit.
