Solution to drinking water problem sought
District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu ordered the municipal officials to solve drinking water problem in the town. He conducted Grievance Day programme at the Collectorate here on Monday. Several applications were received from the public about various problems in the district. Most of the representations were about requesting to solve drinking water problem in the summer.

As many as 300 applications were submitted from people under Palvoncha municipality seeking drinking water problems in summer. The Collector redirected the applications to the departments concerned for clearance.
Later speaking to the officials of rural water scheme, public health departments and municipality, the Collector told them to coordinate with each other to solve drinking water problems. The staff were told to visit the place of the problem for verification before clearing the problem.
Asking the officers to submit plans for solving drinking water problem in the district, he reviewed pending applications with all district officers. The details of every application, after solving, should be uploaded in the website. The reason for rejecting any application should also be mentioned in the website. The Collector told the officers working with Swachh Bharat drive to speed up the construction of individual toilets in villages.
He suggested the officials to coordinate with other departments and sarpanch and ward members to make the people aware about various government schemes. Most of the petitions were about land, employment, Kalyana Lakshmi schemes and loans. District revenue officer Kiran Kumar, district rural development project director P Jagath Kumar Reddy, Kothagudem revenue divisional officer Ravindernath, district panchayat officer Asha Latha and other district officers participated in the programme.
