Mahbubnagar: Home minister Naini Narasimha Reddy presented silk cloths to ‘Sita and Rama’ at the Sirsanagandla Sita Rama Temple on the occasion of celebrations of Sri Rama Navami in Sirsanagandla village under Charakonda mandal in Nagarkurnool district on Monday. He presented the silk clothes on behalf of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The Sirsanagandla Ramalayam temple is a famous temple in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district and it has been a tradition that a representative of the state government presents ‘Pattu Vastralu’ and ‘Mutyala Talambralu’ to the presiding deity of Sita and Rama at the Temple.

While taking part in the Sita Rama Kalyanam, the Home Minister said that unlike in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar where the governments had never given priority to the temples in Telangana State, the TRS government is giving highest priority and allocating hundreds of crores of rupees for the renovation of old temples and construction of new temples.

The Home Minister announced Rs. 50 crore for the renovation and development of Srisanagandla Sita Rama Temple. “The State government is committed for the all-round development of the State. We have allocated thousands of crores of funds for the development of Bhadradri, Vemulawada, and Yadadri.

Similarly we will also develop the Sirsanagandla temple which is famous in this part of the region,” said Narasihma Reddy. The Sita Rama Kalyanam was celebrated with great fervour and devotion. A large number of devotees chanted Jai Sri Ram slogans and witnessed the celestial wedding.
