Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Tuesday directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Telangana Open School Intermediate and SSC examinations, scheduled to be held from April 17 to May 1 here.

The Collector was chairing a review meeting with the officials concerned on the arrangements to be made for conducting the Open School Intermediate and SSC examinations. Lokesh Kumar said as many as six examination centres would be established for conducting SSC examinations and five for Intermediate examinations under Open School in the district headquarters.

The Examinations will be held from April 17 to May 1 from morning 8.30 am to 11.30 am.About 887 regular students and 402 supplementary students are expected to appear for the examinations. For SSC examinations 1,130 regular students and 431 supplementary students are expected to appear, said the Collector.

He instructed the officials to provide security at the examination centres to prevent any untoward incident. He also asked the officials to form flying squads and provide required staff for conducting examinations.

The Collector ordered the officials to check the students thoroughly before letting them into the examination hall and not to allow any electronic gadgets into the examination hall for smooth conduct of examinations.

He stressed the need to provide all necessary arrangements like fans, furniture, drinking water facility, besides ensuring uninterrupted power and setting up of temporary medical camps at the examination centres in case of emergency,.

The in-charge District Revenue Officer V Madhan Gopal, the Assistant Director of District education department D Murali Krishna, District Medical and Health Officer N Kondal Rao, RTC Officer B Mahesh Kumar and the officials of department concerned were present in the meeting.
