I have been waiting since 9.30 am onwards to get my sheep treated. But even after 3.30 pm not a single veterinary staff has turned up. All through the day the hosptial remains closed. My sheep has died and now I am returning home,” said Masaiah, a shepherd from Balmoor mandal.

The Achampet mandal headquarter has one Veterinary Assistant Director, a veterinary doctor, two compounders and an attender. On Friday, not single employee has turned up.

According to Ravinder Goud, a resident of Achampet, it is not the first time that the veternary staff in the Achampet is absent. “We have never seen full staff at the veterinary hospital so far. The cattle farmers and shepherds are demanding that the government take stern action against the doctors.
