Khammam collector directs officials to prepare heat wave action plan
District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Monday stressed the need for preparing an action plan to protect people from severe heat wave during summer.
Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Monday stressed the need for preparing an action plan to protect people from severe heat wave during summer.
The Collector chaired a meeting with the officials here at Zilla Parishad conference hall to discuss the measures to taken for protection of people during summer.
Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to take necessary steps such as establishing shelters, providing water at the main centres, besides organise first-aid kits in all Primary Health Centres and oral rehydration solution (ORS) packets.
He urged the people to take certain preventive steps like carrying an umbrella, wearing of white clothes, caps, drinking of lime water, coconut water, butter milk with salt and glucose water to protect themselves from sunstroke.
He also cautioned parents not to allow their children to play outside during summer between 10 am and 4 pm. Rural Development Officer Purnachandra Rao, District Panchayat Officer Srinivas Reddy and officials of various departments were present.
