Kothagudem: The Nutritional Rehabilitation Center (NRC), which has hitherto been under the control of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency, is being attached to the Area Hospital in Bhadrachalam.
District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu issued orders transferring the control of NRC to the Area Hospital. The Health Department officials had been appealing to the District Collector for long to attach the NRC to the Area Hospital. The Collector had agreed to transfer the control of the centre.
The NRC centers were established in 1998. The center was opened by Project Officer Ashok Kumar. It helped 15, 227 children up to 2013. Later, the funds were not released the ITDA to maintain the NRC center. The NRC had gained the good name for the serving the children in the agency area.
The children belonging to tribals got nutritional boost. After the year 2013, the Center did not function properly. In the agency area, the government allocated 10-bed Nutritional Rehabilitation Center in the Government Hospital.
Recently in the government hospital, more beds were also provided for the NRC. So the health officers requested the Collector to attach the NRC to the Government Hospital.
