Mahbubnagar: The Karate Summer camp organised by Marikal Nehru Yuvaka mandali concluded on Wednesday at the Zillah Parishad High School (boys) in Marikal mandal in Mahabubnagar district.

The organisers as part of the summer camp held a 21-day free Karate and Kumfu training programme for the schoolchildren, both girls and boys. “The summer camp for students was organised from April 16 to May 8. It was organised by Nehru Yuvaka Mandali president Anjaneyulu and Sreekanth Reddy.

More than 500 children took part in the camp and learnt self- defence skills to protect themselves from attacks. The organisers organised special training classes for girl students, said P Balalingaiah, Senior Teacher of ZPHS Marikal. While addressing the closing ceremony, Balalingaiah appreciated the pro-active initiative taken by the Nehru Yuvaka Mandali appealed to the youth to serve the society.

A Nataraj, Karate Association vice president, said this kind of programmes would help the students to improve physical fitness and also their concentration. Srikanth Reddy, Circle Inspector of Police, Marikal, said he would give encouragement to such programmes.

Shashikala Buchappa MPP, Laxmi Rama swami, Saubhagya Laxmi MPTC, Abhijay Reddy, Gani Sreenivas, Ravi Kumar, Deputy Sarpanch and youth volunteers and others participated in the programme.
