Khammam: The district has ranked first in the construction of double bedroom houses, according to Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Friday. He said the scheme was introduced by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to provide shelter to the homeless.
The Minister was inaugurating the 40 double bedroom houses at Mandalapadu village under Penuballi mandal, Speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed the officials to identify beneficiaries transparently.
Later, the Minister inaugurated the restoration works of Ratoni Cheruvu under Penuballi mandal in the fourth phase of Mission Kakatiya.
The Minister said that necessary steps were taken for the supplying water for irrigation to all the tanks under Wyra constituency, including large tanks like Ratoni, Lankasagar, Wyra and Betupalli though Sitharama Project.
The Minister directed the officials to prepare proposals for sanctioning of additional funds, if necessary, for restoration of tanks.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, Scheduled Castes Corporation Chairman Pidamarthi Ravi, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijaya Babu, ZP Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh, Executive Engineer Narasimha Rao, MPP Chikati Rama Rao, ZPTC Vankadothu Rajitha, Kallur RDO Naga Mahalakshmi and Tahasildar T Srinivas Rao were present at the programme.
