Mahbubnagar administration gears up for Implementation of govt scheme
The Rythu Bhandu Insurance Schemes aimed at providing insurance cover to the farmers across Telangana State is scheduled to be launched in Mahbubnagar district from August 15.
Mahbubnagar: The Rythu Bhandu Insurance Schemes aimed at providing insurance cover to the farmers across Telangana State is scheduled to be launched in Mahbubnagar district from August 15. As part of this, the district administration has already begun preparations and conducted awareness campaign in Mahbubnagar and Jogulamba Gadwall.
Speaking at a review meeting, District Collector Ronald Rose said, “The State government is providing life insurance cover as part of Rythu Bhandu Jeevita Bheema Scheme Under the scheme each farmer will be benefited and a life insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.
All farmers in the age group of 18-59 years are eligible for this scheme and the annual premium of Rs 2,271.50 is paid by the State government. Therefore, the main task of the Agriculture officials is to go to each and every village and create awareness about the scheme to every farmer and record the details of each farmer and members of their family in a register.”
All those farmers who have pattadar passbooks are eligible for the scheme. The Collector said the Agriculture extension officials (AEOs) have to play a major role in the implementation of the scheme. As Aadhaar card is essential for enrolling for this scheme, the District Collector directed the AEOs to help all the farmers to get Aadhaar cards as early as possible to help them secure the benefits under the scheme.
“We have directed the AEOs, and other Agriculture officials to visit each and every village in the district and set up a register in each village and record the details of each farmer and their family members. Most importantly, recording the names of nominee is important. After filling up the name of the nominees in the applications form it should be signed by the farmers concerned,” said the collector.
Mahbubnagar District Agriculture officer Sucharita, Gadwal District Agriculture officer Govind Nayak and other officials and extension officers of both the district took part in the meeting.
