Officials told to ensure all eligible farmers under insurance scheme in Nalgonda

The Minister along with Minister for energy G Jagadish Reddy, Farmers Coordination Committee Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy was addressing the Farmers Coordination Committee (FCC) meeting here.

Srinivas Reddy said the State government would roll out farmers life insurance scheme from August 15. Each farmer would get Rs 5 lakh insurance cover and all the farmers in the age group of 18- 60 are eligible for insurance scheme. Under the scheme, village secretary is authorised to issue certificate in case of death of any farmer.

If the secretary dilly-dallies, he will be penalised for Rs 1000, he said. He directed Agriculture Extension officials to complete the insurance survey by the end of this month. He urged the FCC members to extend their cooperation to the officials.

As per the schedule, data entry of the farmers should be completed by July 15, all the data would be handed over to the insurance company on August 1 and Insurance bonds would be handed over to the Department of Agriculture on August 5. Insurance bonds would be distributed to farmers from August 15 in every village, he said. He said the farmers would get rabi season Rythu Bandhu cheques from November 16.

MP Lingaiah Yadav, ZP Chairman Balu Naik, Collectors Gaurav Uppal, K Surendra Mohan, Anitha Ramachandran, MLAs Vemula Veeresham, Gadadri kishore and FCC members of erstwhile Nalgonda district participated.
