Khammam: Communist Party of India (CPI) district unit Secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao here on Thursday alleged that the State government was pursuing anti-people’s policies.

Speaking to the media at the CPI party office, Hemantha Rao said the TRS government and its leaders were deceiving people by making false promises. The Forest Department officials were harassing podu farmers, but the State government turned a blind eye to it. Instead of allotting pattas to the podu farmers, the officials were driving them out of the lands they were cultivating for many years, he said.

The CPI leader urged the State government to exert pressure on the Centre for the steel factor Bayyaram. The steel factory, when established, would provide jobs to a large number of youth, particularly to those belonging to the Scheduled Tribes. He demanded that the government reschedule the farm loans.

CPI party leaders Potu Prasad, Shingu Narismha Rao, Sk Jani Miya, B G Climont and Thati Venkateswhar Rao were present at the media conference.
