NGOs equip ZPHS in Marikal with computers, equipment
In a gesture of giving back to the society, two NGOsDelhibased Global Hunt and 100 Smiles Foundation joined hands to provided required basic educational facilities and equipment worth Rs 35 lakh to Zillah Parishad High School for Boys at Marikal on Thursday
Mahbubnagar: In a gesture of giving back to the society, two NGOs—Delhi-based Global Hunt and 100 Smiles Foundation-- joined hands to provided required basic educational facilities and equipment worth Rs. 3.5 lakh to Zillah Parishad High School for Boys at Marikal on Thursday.
Balalingaiah, a senior teacher of ZPHS Marikal, had earlier been following up with these two organisations to help the school get equipped with advanced teaching facilities like computer lab, a library, books, necessary furniture and a science laboratory to help the students of government school improve their quality of learning on par with the private schools.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pradip Kumar Sarmah of Global Hunt Foundation from Delhi and Manoj and Srikant of 100 Smiles Foundation from Hyderabad for choosing our school to provide advanced educational equipments like computers, library books and science laboratory equipment worth more than Rs. 3.5 lakh. This will really help us teach students more effectively with deeper understanding of the subjects,” said Balalingaiah.
As part of the social corporate responsibility, the Global Hunt Foundation from Delhi collaborated with the DXC Technologies to help provide educational equipment to some of the selected schools in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana, as many as 30 schools in the rural areas were selected to provide computers, science laboratory equipment along with necessary infrastructure like chairs, tables and benches for the students.
“At present we have collaborated with DXC Technologies to support 30 schools in Telangana. And across the country we are planning to provide necessary advanced learning equipment to more than 100 government schools in various states in collaboration with other corporate bodies in the next one year ahead,” said Dr Pradip Kumar Sarmah, advisor to the Global Hunt Foundation.
It is learned that these two NGOs, Global HUnt and 100 Smiles Foundation are spending about Rs. 6 lakh for each school to equip with all necessary educational facilities for the students of the government schools. “We got 6 new computers along with computer tables, chairs and other related material for the computer laboratory. A computer teacher is also being appointed. For which the salary for the teacher is also completely borne by the Global Hunt foundation,” informed Balalingaiah.
Manoj, from 100 Smiles Foundation, while talking on the occasion stressed value based education and said that merely reading textbook is not enough but the students must learn to respect their teachers, elders and parents and also how to behave with the students themselves. He hoped that all the equipment provided to them are utilised to the maximum extent and ensure all the students learn subjects more effectively through experiments using the science lab equipment.
At present the Global Hunt Foundation is sponsoring computers to 2 schools in Mahbubnagar and 3 schools in Mahaboobabad. Similarly, the 100 Smiles Foundation is providing library facilities and free books to more than 1500 schools in 3 States across the country.
