Establish ITDA in Khammam: Telangana Jena Samiti

Khammam: Distric Telangana Jena Samiti president Dr. Seelam Papa Rao on Thursday demanded government to establish separate ITDA in Khammam district. 

Addressing the party’s district general body meeting, Dr. S Papa Rao said that after the bifurcation of the district, there are no special provisions for the tribal people living in the Khammam district. Keeping in view the tribal population in the district, the government must establish a separate ITDA in the district.

The tribal people have been facing many problems for decades due to lack of basic facilities in the agency areas where they are living. The local MLAs and those who belong to the tribal community must take initiation for providing basic facilities along with exerting pressure on the government for allotment of 15 per cent reservation for tribal people in education and employment sectors, he appealed.

The TRS government is deceiving the tribal people by not fulfilling its poll promise of distribution of three acres of land. Moreover, it is harassing the people who are cultivating podu lands years and forcing them to vacate the lands, he alleged.

The State government must establish separate study centres for tribal people along with exerting pressure on the Central government for establishment of Tribal University in the district, he demanded.

The TJS District General Secretary Bhadru Naik, G Shankar Rao, Nageshwar Rao, N Srinivas Rao, T Ramu, Ravi, G Srinivas Naik, Nagaraju, Veeranna, Suresh, Veeru, Lakshman, Sai, Balu, Kishore, Veerababu, Hari, Anvesh and others were present on the occasion.
