Sub-Plan funds will solve problems, says MLA

Vijayawada: Vijayawada East MLA Yalamanchili Ravi here on Wednesday said that the funds from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Sub-Plan would help in providing basic amenities to the people. The legislator participated in the 'Indiramma Kalalu' programme organised by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation in 7, 17 and 18 divisions of the city covering Mogalrajapuram area. Speaking on the occasion, Ravi said that the Sub-Plan had come as a blessing for these neglected sections to improve their living standards and basic amenities provided. The officials would now provide the facilities and develop the localities where the SC and ST population is more, he added. When the residents told him that they were facing drinking water problem due to the irregular power cuts, the legislator asked the municipal corporation officials to provide a new generator in the next week and solve the problem. He further said that the government had sanctioned funds for construction of over head water tank in the hill area of Mogalrajapuram. The civic officials would start the work soon and that would solve the drinking water problem of the area permanently, he added. The legislator also told them that he had sanctioned Rs 5 lakh from his Assembly Constituency Development Fund for the construction of community hall. He said that the community hall would come up in the area soon. He said that the government had also issued GO Ms No 166 authorising the revenue officials for registration of the house sites assigned to the beneficiaries. He requested the Sub-Collector D Harichandana to take up the issue and start registering the house sites according to the GO. Sub Collector D Harichandana, SC Corporation executive director K Sivasankara Rao, Municipal Corporation chief engineer Kondala Rao, revenue officer R Srinivasa Rao, executive engineer Chowdary, assistant supply officer R Siva Prasad, deputy executive engineer Srinivas, urban community development project officer Siva Sankar and other officials were present.
