The Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged dharna here on Monday before the tahsildar office at Kalluru demanding justice to the beneficiaries of Indiramma housing scheme.

City secretary Prabhakar Reddy addressing the activists lambasted the State Government for ignoring the welfare of the Indiramma Housing scheme and said that the beneficiaries of Indiramma Housing scheme were not given house sites so far and loans were not sanctioned to the beneficiaries who had been allotted house sites.

The CPM leader said that about 5,000 beneficiaries who have paid Rs. 5,000 each for house sites in 2007 were not allotted house sites. The beneficiaries who had built houses on their own in the Indiramma colonies at Jagannadha Gattu, Venkayapalle and Peddapadu, are facing lack of infrastructure facilities like drinking water, roads and electricity in the colonies. He demanded the government to solve the problems of the Indiramma housing scheme beneficiaries immediately.

Sizable number of CPM activists and the beneficiaries of Indiramma Housing scheme took part in the dharna.
